8th March is International Women’s Day, a day when we recognised and celebrate the success of women.
Women’s Day is an event that celebrates the woman’s achievements and this year’s theme is “gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. It is important to have a world free of bias and in order to celebrate this special day, I have created this artwork to pay tribute to the wonderful females around the world.
The artwork shows the illustration of Ohayo Mamasan, a modern Japanese cafe located at 313 Somerset road. The cafe has a retro blue and orange themed design concept with delicious cocktails and Japanese food. I have specially illustrated 16 gorgeous woman dining and pampering themselves at Ohayo Mamasan enjoying one of its famous cocktail Madam Butterfly.
I have sought inspiration by looking at many female artists and their imagery and hope to provide a strong message to headline the Women’s Day with the message that says “we are stronger together”.
