light up ArtScience Museum

I had created the illustration of the iconic landmark in Singapore, the ArtScience Museum, paying tribute to Moshe Sadie and to welcome the brand new year.

Art Science Museum is an art museum located along Marina Bay Sands waterfront. The museum itself has two major exhibits spaces, the first exhibit hovers within the sculpturally shaped form and the second one are located beneath the lily garden. It has a design that is said in the form of a lotus flower.

The museum houses exhibitions and multimedia art works that tell fascinating and interactive stories, revolving around the themes of nature, science, technology, culture and art. It is the world’s first ArtScience museum. It is a true architectural masterpiece designed by world famous Moshe Sadie, an Israeli born Canadian architect. He has been my inspiration and I love his work, particularly his design concept and his vision for beauty. His works are known for its dramatic curves and geometric patterns.

I had created another five illustration overlays which are projected onto the facade of the ArtScience Museum, highlighting Singapore as a City of togetherness, City of nature beauty, City of heritage, City of architecture, City of love. Visit my Instagram for the five illustration overlays.

The pandemic has made everyone of us come together to overcome it. There are a lot of charities and volunteers responding to various community needs and campaigns has also been launched to encourage togetherness.

Singapore is known for its nature and wildlife beauty attraction and there are a lot of nature trails and nature reserves for people to explore. Among them are the Sungei Buloh Wetland reserves, Kranji Marshes, Zoo, River Safari and the well known Gardens by the Bay.

There are many historical buildings with high cultural values like the Victoria Theatre and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. There is the Alkaff bridge nicknamed the art bridge located at Robertson Quay which is colourful even on rainy days. Chinatown heritage centre will take you back to the earlier Singapore where you can find out the lives in the early 80s. Moreover, Singapore hawker culture is also on the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list joining the likes of French cuisine.

Singapore architecture has a strong focus on sustainability and they display a range of style from different periods. Singapore’s building have an enchanting mix of British and Asian colonial influences. Raffles Hotel is a classic example of colonial architecture style.

There is also the famous esplanade which bears resemblance to durian, the king of fruit in the Asian region. A lot of buildings are designed by famous architect like the Marina Bay Sand from Moshe Sadie.

Singapore is a lovely city with lots of cultural attractions. There are many museums and beautiful places hiding in every corner. Haji Lane located around Kampong Glam are one of them. There are gardens and waterfront bays that encourages long walks at sunset with your loved ones. A very popular romantic location is the Marina Bay waterfront whereby couples stroll, holding hands and stop by to take photographs.

It has always been a joy for me to illustrate and bring out the beauty of Singapore to the world.

This is a new year, a new beginning for everyone. Let us work together to reshape and recreate our future for a better tomorrow. Happy New Year !
