mid autumn at Burlington square
Today is Mid Autumn Festival, an important festival celebrated by Chinese.

Mid Autumn Festival also known as Mooncake Festival. It traditionally falls on 15th day of 8th month of Chinese lunar calendar. It is a day where families reunite and celebrated in Asia over hot tea and mooncakes. Roundness of moon is said to represent the reunion of family and mooncakes are a traditional food during this day.

I have specially illustrated Burlington Square, an apartment building located at Bencoolen Street. Burlington Square is under the Bras Basah Bugis arts and heritage precinct. It is also a shopping mall with a mix of retail shops. It has a unique pretty vintage Art Deco design with inviting colours.

The artwork depicts scenery of Mid Autumn reunion celebrated at the building. There are beautiful couples enjoying the evening under the full moon with colourful lanterns. Not to forget the Jade Rabbits which is an important symbol of the festival. I have drawn several cute rabbits immersing themselves with yummy mooncakes and lanterns.

My artwork of Burlington Square is packed with joyous characters brought together in vibrancy vivid colours aim to showcase the dreamy scenery of Singapore cityscape and to celebrate our unique Chinese culture heritage.

Wishing everyone a sweet Mid Autumn Festival !!
