Mid Autumn celebration at Riverside Point

Today is Mid Autumn’s festival and in line of the Singapore River Festival 2023, I have illustrated a drawing of Riverside Point, a shopping mall located at the heart of Singapore River.

Mid Autumn’s festival also known as the Mooncake Festival is widely celebrated in Chinese culture and among the Chinese community in Singapore. It is held on the 15th day of 8th month in Chinese calendar.

The Chinese usually celebrates the occasion with family gatherings and enjoying the lantern displays and mooncakes together.

This year, the Singapore River Festival returns for its 7th edition between 7th September to 1st October. To celebrate this festival, I created a Mid Autumn celebration illustration of the landmark of Riverside Point.

It is an iconic scenic shopping and dining shopping mall established in 2002 and located at Merchant road along the vibrant Clarke Quay. It has very unique pitched roof and warehouse design with yellow brown colour scheme.

I have added very cute rabbits, playing with lanterns and dancing around the riverfront. Rabbits are very popular among the Chinese culture and it is a symbol for the Mid Autumn’s festival. On the other hand, lanterns symbolise family reunion. A lovely couple is at the centre of the celebration too, enjoying the reunion and the mooncakes.

Wishing everyone a Happy and wonderful Mid Autumn’s festival !!
