The theme for this year Women’s Day is “Embrace Equity”. The artwork has been created in line with the International Women’s Day and a celebration event organised by Alkaff Mansion. 8th March is a day to remember and celebrate to all women. With thanks, affection and gratitude, I have specially illustrated the Alkaff Mansion, a classic and charming heritage building located at Telok Blangah Hill park.
Alkaff Mansion was built in 1918 by Syed Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Alkaff and reopened in 2011 under LES whom opened the Italian restaurant Alkaff Mansion ristorante.
The mansion adorned with distinctive European style architecture, is a lifestyle dining destination and is one of Singapore most beautiful and sophisticated Tudor style mansion with more than 100 years of history.
Its key design features include broad stairways and European style fountain in front of its main entrance. Mansion is also surrounded by white stone balustrade featuring English motifs. Today the former residence houses 3 dining venue. Level one is the Wildseed cafe and TXA Gastrobar. The 2nd level consists of the UNA restaurant.
In recent years, it has been very inspired for me to see so many great women from all walks of life. They are clever, determined and full of energy. Feeling inspired by them, I have drawn 8 pretty women enjoying their time and indulging in the wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful lush green environment.
